What does it mean to See?

The week we have an opening for Lost and Found – which means to “see”, and thus it gives us an extra connection to the power of miracles and wonders. In addition, there is “wonderment” offering us yet another indication of where that gates of Heaven are open this week gives us the power to go beyond the illusion of our physical reality and truly see the wonderment of the 99% unseen reality. 

There are two opposites in the spectrum of how we see. One is, “I see what I want to see.” We are all familiar with that idea. And two: We see objectively. It’s that simple. Two people can observe the same idea or physical occurrence and yet walk away with opposite interpretations of what they actually saw. Within this week there is the importance of reading between the lines—not reading the words, but trying to interpret something that is unwritten, something that can elude and observation.

At every moment, our eyes take in the physical world around us—but without necessarily ever seen the deeper truth that underlies our world.

Of course, we don’t even see the physical world as it is; our eyes invert an image, and our brains have to compensate by reversing it again. Although this compensation takes place without our conscious awareness, this is the reality of the vision. Why didn’t The Creator make eyes that see things upside down? It’s to teach us that what we think we are seen in another person is really a reflection of ourselves. Only the righteous see without being fooled; they see the truth because they don’t project themselves and their own failings onto others.

The ability to recognize a true prophet, and more generally the topic of true sight, are both closely connected to this week. A Righteous person truly feels another’s pain. Wishing you all a blessed week full of Wonderment!
